Hypnosis is a focused and absorbed state of attention where you become more receptive to new ideas.
During a hypnosis session, you’ll be guided via audio into a relaxed and focused state. Your guide will then speak about thoughts, feelings and behaviors that may impact your mental health. They’ll suggest changes you may want to make to your own thoughts, feelings and behaviors.
You’ll be completely aware and in control throughout the entire process. Despite how it’s portrayed in movies, hypnosis is not mind control. It feels a lot like being immersed in a good book or movie: you’re focused but can stop at any time.
Research shows that combining hypnosis with psychological therapies (like CBT) can lead to better results than using either alone. This is why the program leverages both hypnosis and CBT.
